Dear Member,

Let me admit upfront that Almighty Allah has bestowed upon me a great honour by affording me the opportunity to serve as President of the Old Ravians’ Union for the next two years. This opportunity will enable me to pay back to my alma mater atleast a fraction of what I have received from this greatest of the great educational institutions of the sub-continent. I personally owe so much to this “Dargah” that even the best of my efforts will not be enough to repay the debt.

This opportunity will also enable me to make some positive contributions for the welfare of the fraternity of the Old Ravians all over the globe. There is no denying the fact that the Old Ravians have played an extremely important role in the progress of our country in all the fields including politics, bureaucracy, judiciary, sports, military and what not. The list includes former Prime Ministers, a battery of retired Federal Secretaries/Inspector Generals of Police, Generals including Chiefs of the Army Staff, Chief Justices of the Hon’ble Supreme Court of Pakistan and sportsmen in almost all the games including Cricket and Hockey.

I take this opportunity to thank all the Old Ravians for electing our panel and reposing their confidence in us. I can assure all of them that my team will live up to the traditions of this great institution and will do their best to serve the fraternity in its best interest and welfare.

In the end I request all the Old Ravians to pray for our success in the next two years.
